The author omitted a detailed description of the triple murder. This decision subtracts the horror of the act. Silas is described as a solitary stranger who belongs neither to the world of the living nor the world of the dead. He is a heartwarming, loving and a caring person. I predict from this point of the story, that he is loyal and will not abandon the baby and will stick to his choices. If I was a member of the graveyard community, I would vote on allowing Nobody the Freedom of the Graveyard. I think Jack murdered the family members and hunting the baby is because they are Jack’s enemies and they have done something bad to Jack’s family so he seeks revenge. I think what the author meant when he stated that “death is the great democracy” is that all humans die, no matter what they are and who they are.
